Mental Healthcare Goes Green: Solar Power for Thane Center
Nestled in the tranquil surroundings of Thane West, the Thane Mental Hospital stands as a beacon of hope and healing within the community. As a distinguished government institution dedicated to providing compassionate care, the hospital grapples with significant energy demands in its mission to serve those in need.
In a momentous collaboration with PREAL (Prabhat Renewable Energy and Agro Ltd), facilitated by the esteemed government nodal agency MEDA (Maharashtra Energy Development Agency), the hospital has embraced the transformative power of solar energy as a means to bolster its sustainability efforts. Recognizing the imperative of fiscal responsibility and environmental stewardship, Thane Mental Hospital has embarked on a visionary journey towards energy efficiency.
A bespoke 35 kWp solar rooftop installation, meticulously crafted by PREAL, now adorns the roof of the hospital's OPD building. Each solar panel, basking in the gentle caress of the sun's rays, serves as a symbol of progress and renewal, harnessing the inexhaustible power of solar energy to fulfill 30% of the hospital's power requirements.
With this pioneering initiative, Thane Mental Hospital not only realizes significant savings in utility costs but also reaffirms its commitment to holistic healing and sustainable practices. As the sun's luminous embrace bathes the hospital in warmth and vitality, it illuminates a path towards a brighter, more resilient future for both patients and the planet alike.
